Trip to Cali
Posted by nossonzand on Monday, March 16th, 2009 at 3:23 am. Filed under Jewlicious Festival 5.0, Misc, The BlogB”H
Just got back from a trip to L.A., and already I’m planning the next one!
My recent trip consisted of concerts, meetings - both business and social, and even some unexpected recording… I was flown out to Cali in order to perform at the Jewlicious 5.0 festival in Long Beach but elected to stay in L.A.
While in L.A., I met up with Lil’ O, who is one of my engineers and a good friend of mine. Lil’ O is a member of the Wu Tang Clan’s extended family. He has worked closely with the RZA on numerous projects, including the most recent season of Afro Samurai.
I also got to spend some time with Ken L, who is an amazing actor/rapper who played the security guard in the short film i was in called, “Song of David”.
The concerts at Jewlicious 5.0 were a lot of fun. I was asked to perform both Saturday night and Sunday afternoon, so I got to meet a lot of interesting people. I linked up with Moshav and Y-Love on stage, Matisyahu backstage, and later on in the studio back in LA with a group called Vok Cal that was also at the festival.
Spent a wonderful shabbos with the gang over at Chabad of USC in South Central…
Should have some cool video footage of the trip for you to check out in the near future, including a special video blog straight from the sands of Venice Beach, CA.
Also, I’m currently working out the details for my next trip to the West Coast. Stay tuned.
PEACE
Nosson
